The "Nicolae Testemitanu" State University of Medicine and Pharmacy of the Republic of Moldova is a higher education institution, accredited at national level (2001, 2007, 2018), evaluated by international bodies (2001, 2005) and institutionally accredited (2019, 2025) according to the standards of the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME). At the same time, the integrated study programs Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy were accredited in 2022 according to WFME standards for a term of 5 years.

The institution offers optimal conditions for university and postgraduate training through residency for medical and pharmaceutical professionals, according to the requirements of the European educational area and global exigencies, subsequently ensuring continuous medical education throughout the entire activity.

The teaching process is carried out in an indispensable connection with scientific research, providing qualified medical assistance to the population, propagating the contemporary achievements of medicine and pharmacy. The educational strategy of the University was inspired by the beautiful traditions of the medical school of the last century, but it is constantly oriented towards essential changes in the way of organizing medical higher education. The current curricular reform, which is currently being carried out, aims at the substantial renovation of the curricula, the capitalization of new educational offers, the application of the European system of transferable academic credits, the implementation of modern information technologies, advanced forms and methods of teaching-learning-assessment. Students and residents have the opportunity to participate in scientific research activity. At the same time, they benefit from the in-depth study of international languages, practical internships abroad, obtaining a driving license, participating in various sports, cultural-artistic activities, etc. All these activities are ensured by a well-developed technical-material base, by a rich collection of didactic and scientific publications in the medical field and electronic information resources, by good living and rest conditions.
